Celcom 3G customers will soon be able to enjoy 3G services in Belaga, Lundu, Julau, Song, Tatau and Lubok Antu.

The expansion of its 3G services to these remote and rural towns in Sarawak will begin this month. 90 per cent of the populated areas in Sarawak are covered by Celcom’s 2G and 3G network.

Celcom said this during the launch of the Blackberry Bold 9700 smartphone in Sarawak. The state is the first to receive the new Blackberry Bold 9700 after it was launched in Kuala Lumpur about last week.

In conjunction with the launch in Kuching, the new smartphone was offered at a 50 per cent discount price at RM988 to the first 50 customers. The normal price from Celcom is RM1,988.
