Optimised for almost any Internet-enabled phone, Maybank has launched its new mobile banking site, making it easier for anyone to do banking while on the go.

Launched on the 19 January 2010, Maybank2u Internet banking users can use the same ID and password to login to their online account at http://mobile.maybank2u.com.my on the phone.

Here’s what you can do on the new mobile site which will be in Beta for 3 months, according to Maybank:

• Account Summary
  • Balance Inquiry (Savings, Current, Credit/Debit Card)
  • M2U History, Recent Transaction, Today's Transactions, Transaction History (Deposit, Credit/Debit Card)
• Funds Transfer
  • To Own Accounts
  • To Registered 3rd Party Accounts
  • To Registered Interbank GIRO
• Payments
  • Registered Bill Payment
  • Card Payment (Own)
  • Card Payment (Registered 3rd Party Accounts)
• View Rates
  • View Forex & Deposit Rates

Note that data charges apply if you are browsing on GPRS/EDGE or 3G. Although the mobile site is secured by SSL, users are not recommended to access the site in public WiFi for security reasons.
