Related ArticlesMy, my, it's been a while since Nokia has attracted so much buzz. We're sort of happy at MW that the giant has come up with a move that appears to have outflanked its competitors. We're referring of course to their anouncement yesterday that Nokia will offer free worldwide Ovi Maps. They said that this will include all essential car and pedestrian navigation features, such as turn-by-turn voice guidance for 74 countries in 46 languages, and traffic information for over 10 countries, as well as detailed maps for over 180 countries. The press release said that this includes support for drivers that includes lane assistance, traffic information, safety camera and speed warnings. And for pedestrians this includes shortcuts through parks and pedestrian-only zones for over 100 cities around the world as well as 6000 3D landmarks in over 200 cities. Yesterday we could not confirm if Malaysian cities are included. So we asked Nokia and we're happy to inform that they say, yes, Malaysia is one of the 74 countries and yes, KL is one of the 200 cities. They also add that Ovi Maps also supports other major cities in Malaysia – Penang, Johor Bahru, Ipoh etc. You can confirm that by booting up Ovi Maps. You’ll be able to find it in the data. Splendid.
