As promised last issue, I am going to dwell into the realm of the blue giant – Celcom. My previous encounters with the DIGI and Maxis gaming websites were entertaining so I’m expecting nothing less from XPAC’s Channel X. It should be fun, enticing, intuitive and magnificent! Well, XPAC did not disappoint me.

Upon logon, I’m greeted with a gorgeous serving of games; I did a bit of quick math and deduce that X offers more than 500 games. I do love my job reviewing mobile games but five hundred games are overwhelming. It is going to be a headache to pick the cream out of this pile.

This month we will dive into the realm of the red giant, Maxis / Hotlink and see what they serve in their mobile games menu. A link in Maxis homepage leads me to their Games Unlimited site at http://www.gamesunlimited.com.my.

3 games are featured in the introductory animation and those images left quite an imprint in my mind. They are Burnout, Need For Speed (NFS) ProStreet and NFS Carbon. All developed under EA Mobile.

 

To call my “Silent Hill” playtime on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) a ‘psychotic thriller’ is an understatement. The psychological terror and survival of the perpetually fog-shrouded Silent Hill stand out among other survival horror genres till this day.

 

I will be contributing my rants on gaming as well from now on other than my usual section, Soft Approach that focuses on mobile software.
