i-Dola and Jean-i conceived |

In three months time, Malaysians will be
able to buy the i-Dola laptop and Jean-i personal computer (PC) at RM1, 000 and
RM500 respectively. The devices are named after the Prime Minister and his
wife.
Its technical specifications are scant but
it is said that i-Dola and the Jean-i will be as fast as computers running on Intel
Pentium 4 processors. Codenamed Mak Cik, Mimos said the project took two years
to develop and now they are ready to license the production.
According to Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili,
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation they hope to sell about a
million units and several manufacturers expressed their interests to produce
the devices. He also said that the affordable computers are targeted at housewives,
students and businesses.
