Jon Eddy appointed CEO of Telenor Pakistan

Jon Eddy Abdullah, the current Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Maxis has accepted a job offer as the Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Pakistan.

"I am very excited to take up this position. Telenor's approach in Pakistan is innovative and thorough, and I am impressed by their achievements since the launch in 2005. Fascinated by the huge growth, I am looking forward to further develop Telenor's position," Jon said in a statement.

Jon Eddy Abdullah has more than 15 years of experience from the telecommunications industry. Prior to Maxis, he was the Chief Technology Officer in DiGi.

Telenor Pakistan is fully owned by Telenor ASA. Jon Eddy Abdullah will succeed Tore Johnsen as the current CEO from August15, 2008.

According to reliable sources, Jon will be leaving Maxis on July 31, 2008.
