JVC launches Everio S series
- MW Team
ImageYouTube directors can now get high quality videos with JVC’s Everio S Series SD Card memory camcorder, the GZ-MS100. The MS100 provides a YouTube upload button that limits recordings to 10 minutes in length, which is YouTube’s file size limit. All you need to do is to press the “upload” button before recording.

This eliminates the need to manually time the recordings or to edit and shorten any footage. After the recording process, connect it to a PC via a USB cable and press the “upload” button again. The video will be up on YouTube with just a few clicks away.

The camcorder only weighs 270 g with its battery attached because it records onto an SD/SDHC card instead of a built-in hard drive or a tape.

Despite its size, it is a full fledged camcorder which uses Konica Minolta lens. It has 35x optical zoom with 800x digital zoom, image stabilizer and JVC’s Gigabrid Engine. The engine helps reduce noise. Other camera functions include shooting modes to accommodate a variety of situations (Night, Twilight, Portrait, Sports, Snow, Spotlight).

An auto power on/off is installed into the MS100. To turn it on, you need to flip open the LCD and close the lid to turn it off. It also has an LCD backlight control which automatically adjusts its brightness according to the environment.

The GZ-M100 will be available in mid-July 2008, retailing at RM1499. During the introductory period, each unit comes with a 4GB SDHC.
