In a recent report, Ericsson said that
it will equip Toshiba Business Laptops with built in HSPA (High Speed
Packet Access) module allowing users to surf the net while on the
move without the need to purchase additional mobile broadband modems.
The Ericsson module offers download
speed up to 7.2 Mbps and up to 2Mbps for upload, using HSDPA (High
Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet
Access). In addition to it, the module also supports GPS (Global
Positioning System).
In February, Ericsson signed a similar
deal with Lenovo and another deal with Dell in May.
Mobile Broadband is becoming popular
over the years. U Mobile, a 3G operator in Malaysia said that it was
selling its mobile broadband package like “hot cakes” when it was
launched few months back.
