The Motorola ZN5 is now official! Sporting a 5 megapixel
camera, which is co-branded by Kodak, it offers original camera phone features.
ZN5 is the first handset to be produced under the MOTOZINE
line up, which will be Motorola’s new label for multimedia-rich devices.
The MOTOZINE ZN5 runs on the Linux OS with
a Freescale 500MHz processor. It sports a 2.4 inch QVGA TFT display, WiFi
connectivity, Bluetooth A2DP, 3.5mm audio/video jack (TV-out), FM radio,
microSD card slot and 350MB of internal memory.
Similar to the ROKR E8, the ZN5 also uses
the touch sensitive keypad known as ModeShift. It is also one of the
slimmest 5 megapixel camera phone, measuring only 12mm and increases around the
camera area up to 16mm.
As for the 5 megapixel camera, it has all
the common features; a Xenon flash, autofocus and low-light setup. On top of
that, the camera offers two aperture values, which is first among camera
phones. The camera will automatically pick between F2.8 (the standard for all
camera phones) and F5.6 (when there is enough light). The F5.6 setting will
actually lessen lens issues and better sharpness. The ZN5 is also capable of
shooting in RAW image format.
With Kodak's help the ZN5 is equipped
with Kodak Perfect Touch technology. It is a quick fix application that is
installed directly into the handset. The ZN5 also offers direct image upload to
the Kodak Gallery, as well as integration with ShoZu,
which can upload images to various social networking sites.
The ZN5 will be available in China in July
and will be expected to be shipped around the world later this year. Pricing is
unavailable yet.
