Image Sony Ericsson launched five new mobile phones at CommunicAsia 2008 in Singapore yesterday, including some mobile accessories. The five phones are the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot, S302 Snapshot, F305, K330 and J132 but the apple of everyone’s eyes (ours included) is the much-hyped C905 Cyber-shot. It boasts of an 8.1 megapixel camera and in terms of camera resolution, it is the highest outside of Korea when it is made available in Q4 2008.

The C905 Cyber-shot comes with the features commonly found on digital cameras, such as autofocus, face detection, smart contrast, red-eye reduction and image stabiliser. It has both xenon and LED flash, ensuring enough lighting for the darkest of conditions. Other features include GPS, A-GPS, WiFi, HSDPA, Bluetooth and a 2.4 inch scratch-resistant QVGA mineral glass display.

The S302 Snapshot, also a candybar like the C905, features a 2 megapixel camera, picture blogging, 3D games, FM radio, Bluetooth and a 2 inch screen. This model is aimed at those looking for a more affordable camera phone.

On the other hand, the F305 is for gamers. Its specialty is in the Nintendo Wii-like gaming. Users will be able to enjoy three pre-loaded games – Bowling, Fishing Bass and Jockey – just by moving or swinging the phone around. In case the battery runs flat, Sony Ericsson included a Power Pack CPP-100 in the bag, allowing you to just pop it in and continue playing. This camera also comes with dedicated gaming buttons and other features include stereo speaker, Bluetooth A2DP, FM radio and a 2 inch display.

The last two phones, the Sony Ericsson K330 and J132, are entry level phones. The former is one of the company’s cheapest ever VGA camera phones and the latter is a stripped-down phone without a camera largely noted for its dust-resistant keypad.

Besides the phones, Sony Ericsson also revealed three new Bluetooth headsets (HBH-PV715, HBH-PV720 and HBH-PV740), as well as a HSPA USB modem with an onboard M2 and microSD card slot. All the phones are expected in Q4 2008 except for the F305 and K330, which will be available in Q3.
