Maxis appears to have recently eliminated the 18 months contract imposed on Maxis Broadband subscriptions.

The new policy applies to all new and existing Maxis Broadband subscribers from 28 April 2008 onwards. However users terminating after a 7 days trial period and within 12 months of using the service will have to pay a handling fee of RM200 upon discontinuation of the service.

New users will be refunded with their activation fee if they decide not to continue using the service within 7 days of the trial period.

Starting 2 May 2008, broadband users will no longer receive their bills by mail and will have to login to their account online to view their e-billing.

Maxis is also running a promotion called Bolt-On programme offering discount on certain Maxis broadband packages for Maxis postpaid users.
