The world at large simply adores
Nokia phones. Any new one garners praises and accolades. So, are we ready for 2008’s new Nokia, as
revealed at the Nokia World 2007?
Nokia has already brought out one
3110, as a Classic. For the new year,
this phone will Evolve, as the name implies. However, looking at the specifications, one
would be somewhat puzzled as to the absence of upgrades or new features. The Evolve is still triband GSM, with HSCSD,
EDGE and GPRS Class 10 speeds. No 3G,
though. Nor Wifi, only Bluetooth
v2.0. Surprising, infrared is still
making a show here.
Calling features are par for the
course, with the usual calling, SMS, MMS and emailing. There’s even Push to Talk, together with handsfree. While most new phones have already evolved
their lens resolution to beyond 1MP, camera evolution here is stuck at
1.3MP. It’s good that it can still play
music and FM.
The Evolve here is
actually about the environment. The
casing is made from environment-friendly and renewable material. You can even
re-cycle the packing. The best evolution
about this phone is its power-saving. It
can tell when the battery is full, and then its charger simply stops consuming
any more energy.
