 Calvin Tang, Student
How many 19 years old can claim to have an invitation from an
international company to go to Japan for two months? Our guess is not
too many. Calvin landed himself a jackpot when McAfee invited him to
join their two-month internship programme in Tokyo.
He wrote a series of security articles for us and confessed to be a
security junkie since young. After watching the movie Entrapment, he
was amazed by what you can do with some security manipulation.
Curious as he was, he conducted several tests himself and posted them up in forums like ours. He would download the virus into his phone and find ways and means to disinfect the phone.
One day he got an email from David Rayhack of McAfee with an invitation. “I loved the experience, both at work and the culture there. It’s so different from where I came from,” the boy from Kota Kinabalu said.
“I got to understand how an application for a mobile phone needs to adhere to strict testing before it gets out to users,” he shared.
