Alicia Ong is a walking billboard for her mother’s line of cosmetic products.

Her mother imports cosmetics from the US and South Korea and distributes them to salon owners nationwide.

"I’m keen to help her market the products," she says. "I love selling and promoting. I’m very much a people person."

The way she talks you’d think Alicia was a mass comm or marketing student but she studied engineering. "I’m the only girl in my class," she says, adding that she does enjoy being the centre of attention of all the boys.

Alicia is currently using an old Samsung SGH-A800 but for her 21st birthday she’s hoping to get a new phone. "I wish someone would give me a Sony Ericsson W800i because I love music so much," she says.

It’s little wonder that Alicia’s also a good dancer. She should be – she took formal dancing lesson for 12 years. "I like taking part in talent competitions," she says. "Not to show off but to know where I stand."
