Nokia Eseries Enterprise Tools Seminar
Business
users get a taste of the future of mobility.
The Nokia Eseries Enterprise Tools Seminar held
last Saturday in KL Hilton drew an interesting mix of crowd. The seminar was
organised by Mobile World magazine and sponsored by Nokia.
Executives from a mix of Internet and
traditional businesses came to experience the solutions and the enterprise
grade Eseries devices that Nokia has created especially for business users. Very
appropriately, given the cutting edge solutions and devices on display there,
the seminar tagline was ‘Tomorrow’s mobility today’.
Mobile World editor, Kashminder Singh
started off the session with a presentation of trends that will shape life in
the future. He painted a scenario of a pervasive worldwide interoperable
network, the proliferation of smart machines and a new generation of people
born and bred in the digital age as key trends that will shape the future. A
lively discussion followed.
Later the participants were introduced to a
total mobile workflow solution using the Eseries phones and related
applications. Desmond Low, the country manager for Nokia Enterprise solutions
division stressed that Nokia has a total end to end solution for any kind of
businesses. With these solutions, business users can now work as easily outside
their office as they would in the office.
Of special interest were solutions that
enabled users to call each other’s office extensions on their mobile devices
and also the ability to have their direct office lines answered on mobile
devices transparently.
The Nokia Team Suite, which will be
available for all Eseries devices soon, was another popular solution. It is
designed for inter team communications and collaboration. Users can send emails
and messages to a whole team effortlessly as well as perform many other work
related functions.
Participants had a chance to try out the
devices and applications in the afternoon when they took part in a fun game where
they had to use the browser, email and VoIP features in the phones to
communicate with their colleagues to submit a tender for a business project.
In the end, two lucky participants walked
home with a Nokia E50 and Nokia E61 respectively which they won in a lucky draw
and four others took home a one year subscription to Mobile World each.
