In line with the upcoming upgrade to Windows 8 in the 4th quarter, Microsoft has re-designed the company's Windows logo.
The logo is no more a flag, more a window, as it should be at this stage of the changes to the world's most popular desktop operating system.
In the past the logo was just a two-colour version for Windows 1.0. Then it became detailed for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Designed by Pentagram, the logo now reflects the Metro style design principles of Windows 8.
