Sony Tablet S announced in Malaysia

Sony has announced its first and new tablet, the Sony Tablet S, in Malaysia!

Weighing at 598 g (same as Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1) with a 9.4-inch TruBlack technology display, about 20.6 mm at the thickest point, the Sony Tablet S is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor. It runs Android 3.2. and has a 5 MP camera(rear) and a 0.3 MP one (front), USB 2.0 port, stereo mini jack, mono mini jack, Bluetooth 2.1 and a SD memory slot.

Claimed to be "all innovations folded to be one", it has a special feature called  'Throw' - stream photos, music or even videos to DLNA-compatible TV sets or any other devices. Since the tablet also has infrared, it can be used as a fully customisable remote control for multiple home devices such as LCD projector, hi-fi set, Blu-Ray Disc player, and others by synching them with the tablet. 

The Sony Tablet S is also PlayStation certified as it lets you enjoy original PlayStation games. Large keys on the virtual PlayStation game console display on the tablet itself when PlayStation games are executed.

This device is not just an another ordinary tablet as it also can be converted into a digital photo frame or digital clock. With an optional cradle, it can also be a home decoration.

The Sony Tablet S is available in only black. It comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of memory.

There will be an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. 

Price and availability in Malaysia will be announced at the end of February.
