Rather surprising that RIM is not touting its new BlackBerry devices, rather its latest upgrades to its operating system, the OS 7.1.

The upgrades are:

BlackBerry Tag is like Bump except that the phones require NFC to work. Tap a BlackBerry against another to exchange the information. 

Mobile hotspot allows up to five devices to connect to the BlackBerry’s Internet connection. The special feature here is users can call using WiFi.

The BlackBerry travel app can help plan, book, manage, and share travel experiences.

The updated BBM app can do extended profile customization.

The Maps app has special offers nearbyCertain BlackBerry models can tune in to local FM radio.
