At Sony Ericsson official blog we learn that the company is planning to update its 2011 Xperia models to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Meantime, the owners of these phones would have to wait as the company's developers are working to merge its current Xperia software with the new features in Android 4.0.
The confirmed dateline for updating the first 2011 Xperia smartphones to Android 4.0 starting is end March/early April 2012. The list include Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray.
Then, from end April/early May, the next batch would include Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini and mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active, as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.
Owners of 2011 Xperia smartphones will be notified in their phone to download the software over the air via 3G or WiFi. They could also connect to a computer and download it via PC companion.
